In 2025, the Georgian National Communications Commission (ComCom) continued media literacy activities involving universities, schools and youth audiences. University lecturers received training on teaching media literacy and supporting the introduction of dedicated media literacy courses. Conferences organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and UNICEF Georgia brought together teachers, school leaders and students to exchange experiences on media literacy education and approaches to addressing misinformation and safe online participation.
ComCom also continued non-formal educational initiatives, including the “Fake or Real?!” competition for school students. According to ComCom, its media literacy activities have reached thousands of students, teachers and young people across Georgia since 2018.
