Retour Greece promotes gender-sensitive journalism, media literacy and inclusive communication

Greece continued efforts to promote equality, inclusion and responsible journalism through a range of initiatives involving public authorities, academia and media stakeholders. The Secretary General for Gender Equality and Human Rights remained actively involved in the work of the Task Force, contributing expertise on gender-based challenges affecting media professionals. Work also progressed on the development of a Guide for the Use of Inclusive Language in journalism and media, accompanied by training activities for media professionals.

At the same time, the Secretariat General for Communication and Media expanded cooperation with universities through memoranda of cooperation aimed at promoting media literacy, addressing disinformation and strengthening dialogue with the academic community. These initiatives contribute to engaging students, researchers and future media professionals in discussions on media freedom, information integrity and democratic participation.
