In 2025, Albania advanced the development of a new internal State Police Guideline on the Protection of Journalists, including a dedicated chapter addressing gender-based risks affecting journalists. The guidance introduces procedures for responding to online harassment and threats, referral mechanisms to gender-based violence support structures, and enhanced cooperation with prosecution services.

Training programmes for police officers also continued to address gender bias, the identification of sexist online threats and the handling of digital evidence in cases involving online violence against women journalists. Additional measures focused on strengthening reporting mechanisms for online harassment and improving responses to threats occurring in digital environments and during public assemblies.
