First joint evaluation visit between the Council of Europe and the World Anti-Doping Agency

The first joint evaluation visit of the Council of Europe together with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) under the Compliance with the Commitments projects regarding the Anti-Doping Convention (ETS No 135) of the Council of Europe took place on 30, 31 October and 1 November 2017 in Athens, Greece. A team of anti-doping experts with one representative from WADA met the main stakeholders of the anti-doping program in Greece. Mr Georgios Vasileiadis, the Greek Deputy Minister of Sports, welcomed warmly the team the first day of the visit, encouraging the Greek authorities to co-operate with the Council of Europe and WADA. The evaluation team met representatives from the Greek National Olympic Committee, the Greek National Council Combatting doping (ESKAN), athletes, representatives from the different national federations, from the police and people from the laboratory.   A report on the compliance of Greece with the Anti-Doping Convention, including respective Recommendations, will be made available to the Greek Authorities, in due time.
