The 19 countries that have already established their national platforms - or are close to doing so - to fight the manipulation of sports competitions under the Macolin Convention, will meet in Bruges, with the view to developing the “Alert System” already in place, thus increasing the “Group of Copenhagen’s capacities to collect and analyses multi-sourced data, and provide quality information to law enforcement agencies. Working discussions will involve representatives of the GLMS (Global Lotteries Monitoring Systems) and of the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
The “Group of Copenhagen” was established by the Council of Europe in July 2016 with the objective to assist countries with the establishment of their national platforms as specified in the Macolin Convention, and to develop international cooperation through the exchange of information and monitoring of major international sports events (www.coe.int/macolin).
