The Saint-Denis Committee met for the first time

On the 1st December, the Committee on Safety and Security at Sports Events, also known as the Saint-Denis Committee or T-S4 Committee, met for the first time, in an informal and virtual format.

The 18 delegations of the States that have already ratified the Saint-Denis Convention had the opportunity to have a first exchange of views on their national priorities and expectations with regard to the future work of the Committee.

An overview of the foundational documents of the work of the Committee was also presented, including its Rules of Procedure and its Policy Strategy for the period 2021-2023, the Monitoring Guidelines, the Recommendation with best practices and a Model to structure national strategies on safety, security and service at sports events (S4).The Committee also agreed to prepare the terms of reference for two advisory groups (on Legal Issues and Monitoring).

The Committee shall hold its first formal meeting in April 2021. In the meantime, it will meet twice, in an informal and virtual format, to discuss and reach a consensus on its foundational documents.
