On 11 December 2018, Azerbaijan confirmed its ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on an Integrated Safety, Security and Service Approach at Football Matches and Other Sports Events (CETS Nº 218). At the same time, Azerbaijan denounced the European Convention on Spectator Violence (ETS Nº 120).

Azerbaijan is the eighth State Party to ratify this new Convention, which entered into force on 1 November 2017.

The Convention shall enter into force for Azerbaijan on 1st February 2019.
