The Governing Board and Consultative Committee of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) held their annual joint plenary meeting on 8 and 9 June 2023 in Strasbourg, France. The EPAS programme of activities was discussed, as well as ongoing projects and most recent events.

This year’s meeting focused on sport integrity. Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, opened a roundtable on the topic and welcomed the preparation by EPAS of a draft Declaration on Sport Integrity for consideration by the Committee of Ministers. He concluded stating that all stakeholders should play their role in upholding integrity in every aspect of sport.

The Governing Board also adopted the mandate of the International Network of Magistrates and Prosecutors responsible for Sport (MARS), acknowledged by all stakeholders as an instrumental step in the protection of sport integrity.

During its in camera plenary meeting, the Governing Board elected its new bureau. Alexandre Husting (Luxembourg) and Andrea Carletti (Italy) were re-elected as Chair and Vice-Chair respectively. Solène Charuau (France) was re-elected as representative of Region 1; Benthe Tanghe (Netherlands) was elected as representative of Region 2; Andrew Decelis (Malta) was re-elected as representative of Region 3; and Ioanna Paraskevopoulou (Cyprus) was re-elected both as representative of Region 4 and as Gender Equality Rapporteur. Diana De Aguiar Santos (Portugal) is the bureau member representing the Host State of the 2024 Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport.

The Consultative Committee also held its plenary meeting in camera, during which it elected Charlotte Girard Fabre (IFSO) as Chair and Andrej Pisl (EUSA) as a member of the bureau to fill the seat left vacant by elected Charlotte Girard Fabre.
