Council of Europe participates in 4th UEFA Pan-European Safety and Security Strategy Summit

Sport Conventions Division of the Council of Europe took part, last 31st January and 1st February, at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon (Switzerland), in the fourth pan-European safety and security strategy summit organised by UEFA, a common approach on security, safety and service at football matches.

UEFA, in partnership with the Council of Europe and the European Union, delivers these five summits to 55 European countries, having as driver the new Council of Europe Convention on an Integrated Safety, Security and Service Approach at Football Matches and Other Sports Events (CETS Nº 218).

This fourth summit was addressed to eleven European countries: Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Israel, Northern Ireland, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Adrian Dinca, vice-chair of the Standing Committee of the European Convention of Spectator Violence (T-RV) and Paulo Gomes, member of the Sport Conventions Division, represent the Council of Europe in these events.

This week, the fifth and last summit will be delivered to the remaining 11 European countries, in Nyon, Switzerland.
