The GoC and the IOC’s “Integrity Betting Intelligence System” (IBIS) are implementing a “Standard Operating Procedure for Transfer of Information” for potential suspicious betting activities during the Games in South Korea. The aim is to support the IOC in its prevention, detection and sanctioning of manipulations of competitions. The Norwegian National Platform (www.lottstift.no) is acting as the single point of contact for the GoC.
The GoC, established by the Council of Europe in 2016, is composed of co-ordinators from the National Platforms which have been or are being officially established by public authorities in order to co-ordinate the fight against the manipulation of sports competitions at national level, as described in Article 13 of the Macolin Convention. As part of its activities, the GoC (which exists primarily as a network for exchange of information, experience and expertise), pays special attention to the monitoring of international sport events.
