Launch of a video guide on Anti-rumours strategy

The Intercultural Cities programme, in collaboration with Anti-rumours Global, has launched the first series of videos that provide a theoretical and practical introduction to the Anti-rumours Strategy.

The anti-rumours strategy challenges stereotypes and prejudices, and dismantle false rumours about different groups of people and about diversity issues in general. It consists of a combination of a local public policy and a social movement to promote critical thinking and make the most of diversity.

This innovative methodology has been implemented in more than 20 cities in different countries since it was first launched in 2010 in Barcelona.

The videos explain why it is relevant to implement an anti-rumour strategy at local level, what are the key concepts and principles, which steps a city has to undertake to design and implement a successful anti-rumours strategy, and how to evaluate it and ensure the sustainability of results. Moreover, the videos provide some examples of concrete anti-rumours campaigns already implemented by cities that are member of the ICC network.
