MONEYVAL effectue une visite d’évaluation sur l’île de Man

MONEYVAL carries out evaluation visit to the Isle of Man

As part of the 6th round of mutual evaluations, a team of legal, financial and law-enforcement assessors from the Council of Europe's Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) concluded an on-site visit to Douglas (Isle of Man), which took place from 28 September to 9 October 2026. The team was assisted by members of the MONEYVAL Secretariat.

Drawing on the FATF Methodology and Standards, the assessment team evaluated the effectiveness of the Isle of Man’s measures to combat money laundering, the financing of terrorism and proliferation financing. As part of this assessment, the team met with representatives of relevant authorities, including ministries, criminal justice, law enforcement and supervisory authorities, and other operational agencies. The team also engaged representatives of the private sector, such as banks, Trust or Company Service Provider - TCSPs and e-gaming operators among others. At the opening of the on-site visit, the Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, Hon Alfred Cannan MHK, and the Minister for Justice and Home Affairs , Hon Jane Poole-Wilson MHK, expressed the high-level political commitment to implement and continue improving the Isle of Man’s anti money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism and countering proliferation financing framework.

The report is scheduled for discussion and adoption at the MONEYVAL plenary meeting in May 2027, with publication foreseen later in 2027.
