Retour iPROCEEDS: Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina conduct the third national delivery of the judicial training on cybercrime and online crime proceeds

Podgorica, Montenegro and Vlašić, Bosnia and Herzegovina ,

The iPROCEEDS project supported the third national delivery of the Introductory Training Course on Cybercrime, Electronic Evidence and Online Crime Proceeds in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The training was organised in cooperation with the judicial training institutions of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and were conducted by the national trainers, who successfully completed a Training-of-Trainers course.

The two trainings took place on 15-16 April 2019 in Podgorica, Montenegro and 22-25 April 2019 in Vlašić, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The concept of targeting online crime proceeds presented in this training course brings together the approaches of cybercrime, financial and money laundering investigations with the purpose of increasing efficiency and success of criminal investigations and criminal proceedings from the perspective of both prosecuting a criminal and targeting proceeds of crime. Financial investigation and money laundering prevention and investigation can be related to any profit generating crime, however special attention is devoted to cybercrime as defined by the Budapest Convention, Articles 2-11, and other types of online crime, where electronic evidence, anonymity and borderless cyberspace are a common challenge.

As a result of the training judges and prosecutors increased their knowledge in cybercrime, electronic evidence, financial investigations of online crime proceeds and money laundering typologies. They were trained to deal with cybercrime and the related criminal money flows by making use of the existing substantive and procedural laws, as well as of the available avenues of expedite and extensive international and public-private cooperation.
