New Drafting Group on the Use of new technologies by the ECtHR and new tendencies in litigation before the ECtHR (CDDH-TE) will hold first meeting on 11-13 May

The Drafting Group on the Use of new technologies by the ECtHR and new tendencies in litigation before the ECtHR (CDDH-TE) will hold its first meeting in Strasbourg on 11-13 May, and online.

Established by the Steering Committee for Human Rights (CDDH), the CDDH-TE is tasked with conducting preparatory work on these two issues, and will operate until the end of 2027. Its work will address the growing integration of digital technologies into the Court’s activities, providing an opportunity for States Parties, civil society, and experts to reflect on these developments in light of evolving international standards. It will also examine recent complex forms of litigation, including inter-State cases, proceedings involving large numbers of third-party interventions, and cases against numerous respondent States.
