Monitoring visit to an international activity organised by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Europe Office (WAGGGS)

On 18 and 19 April 2024, the European Youth Foundation (EYF) staff visited the international activity 'NFE empowerment for WAGGGS youth leaders’ organised by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Europe Office (WAGGGS). The activity took place in the Destelheide youth center in Dworp, Belgium, from 18 to 21 April 2024.

The main aim of the event was to empower and build capacities of young facilitators, so that they can independently organise workshops and trainings using the WAGGGS non-formal educational methodologies. There was a total of 28 facilitators from all over Europe, who had diverse experience in working with young people in their local communities as WAGGGS leaders, volunteers and educators.

During the event, the participants had the opportunity to exchange practices and work with each other, in order to plan and develop workshops that would be implemented as follow up activities as part of the WAGGGS event Roverway taking place in the end of July 2024.

Both the participants and organisers shared the excitement to be part of such an event, ensuring the basis for quality educational content at the upcoming Roverway, but also overall renewal and sustainability of the WAGGGS pool of facilitators.

Throughout the year, the European Youth Foundation is visiting projects run by non-governmental youth organisations who are receiving a grant from the Foundation in order to get to know to NGOs and the work they do, increase the visibility of the EYF and the Council of Europe, as well further support the organisations in the implementation of the different activities.

The activity was supported through the International activity funding programme of the European Youth Foundation. You can find more information on the international activities grants and upcoming deadlines on the following link.
