Youth sector co-management receives an award

On Friday, 11 October 2019, the World Future Council announced that the 2019 Future Policy Bronze Award had been conferred on the Council of Europe’s co-management system in the youth field.

Co-management is the system whereby youth NGOs and governments have an equal say in decision and policy making in the governing bodies of the Council of Europe youth sector. It is the decision-making process in the Joint Council on Youth, which decides on the political direction and priorities for the work done on youth issues, and the Programming Committee on Youth, the body in charge of the youth programme and activities, including the decisions on EYF grant applications.

The prize will be awarded to Snežana Samardžić-Marković, Director General of Democracy, who will represent the Council of Europe at a ceremony in the margins of the 141st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Belgrade, Serbia on Wednesday 16 October 2019 from 3.00 to 4.15 p.m. CEST.

More information on co-management in the Council of Europe youth sector can be found in the Youth Department website.
