From Trauma to Testimony
Guidelines for psychological support to trafficking survivors in criminal investigations and court proceedings (2026)
While testimony is crucial for achieving justice and holding perpetrators accountable, for survivors, it often means facing the trauma again, along with the loss of control and fear that are frequently deeply woven into the experience of exploitation. This manual is intended for professionals in the judiciary, police, social and health protection systems, as well as for everyone who, in their work, comes into contact with victims of human trafficking, to reduce secondary victimization and strengthen trust in institutions.

The revised and amended second edition of the Manual for Lawyers, was produced by the NGO ASTRA (HF III), with the support of the Council of Europe Office under the project “Strengthening the rights of victims of human trafficking in Serbia with an emphasis on legal support", as a part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe program “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye,” implemented from 2023 to 2026.

Videos
The Child Rights Centre and NGO Atina created a video “Between Dreams and Reality” to raise awareness among children and youth, but also provided information on the phenomenon of human trafficking, its identification, risk factors, as well as available support.
Centar za prava deteta i NVO Atina izradili su video „Između sna i jave“, kako bi podigli svest među decom i mladima, ali i pružili informacije o fenomenu trgovine ljudima, prepoznavanju, faktorima rizika, kao i dostupnoj podršci.
This video was developed by NGO ASTRA a part of the action on “Preventing and combatting trafficking in human beings in Serbia”, implemented by the Council of Europe under the joint EU/CoE programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019 – 2022”.
