Summary of the project: The current economic crisis has led to, and is leading to, unemployment and job insecurity as well as a clear deterioration in the quality of life of socially disadvantaged people. In this respect, one of the most vulnerable groups is young people. It is for this reason that the social action unit in the Union de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya (Catalan Union of Sports Federations- UFEC) has launched its Inser-Sport programme, aimed at young people at risk of social exclusion, who are users of the third sector organisations with which the UFEC has created synergies for networking. This partnership has been extended and now its main focus is in the sports federations and clubs which are aware about this problem. Over ten sports federations and third sector organisations are already taking part in this programme.
Following the approach adopted in the EU Work Plan for Sport, Inser-Sport focuses on sports training, job placement, gender parity, healthy habits and the inclusion of people with disabilities.
Through this programme, young people at risk of social exclusion learn a sport, acquire healthy habits, obtain a federation certificate that allows them to work as instructors and referees and are hired for a first job related to what they have studied. This programme encourages participants to see this first job as a bridge to other jobs, and especially to further studies.

Summary of the project in original language: L’actual crisi econòmica ha provocat, i està provocant, l’atur i la precarietat laboral, així com un clar empitjorament de la qualitat de vida de les persones més desfavorides socialment. En aquest sentit, un dels col·lectius més vulnerables és el juvenil. És per això que des de l’Àrea d’Acció Social de la Unió de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya (UFEC) s’ha posat en marxa el programa Inser-Sport, dirigit a joves en risc d’exclusió social, usuaris de les entitats del tercer sector amb les quals la UFEC ha creat sinergies per treballar en xarxa. Aquesta col·laboració s’ha ampliat i té ara el seu pes principal en les federacions i clubs esportius sensibilitzats amb aquesta problemàtica. Més de deu federacions esportives i entitats del tercer sector ja formen part d’aquest programa.Seguint les línies del Pla Estratègic de l’Esport de la Unió Europea, Inser-Sport incideix sobre la formació esportiva, la inserció laboral, la paritat, els hàbits saludables i la inclusió de les persones amb discapacitat. Mitjançant aquest programa, els joves en risc d’exclusió social aprenen un esport, adquireixen hàbits saludables, obtenen un certificat federatiu que els permet treballar de monitors i àrbitres i són contractats per a una primera feina relacionada amb el que han estudiat. Amb aquest programa incentivem que aquesta primera feina sigui un pont amb altres feines i, sobretot, amb l’ampliació dels estudis.
