Summary of the project: Liberi Nantes was born in 2007 as the first Sport Association in Italy, recognised by the UNHCR, who promotes and guarantees the free access to sport for all refugees and asylum seekers. They offer to women and men escaping from war or dramatic humanitarian situation a possibility of freedom, for recovering their dignity, for rebuilding themselves and create new relationship of friendship and faith. Liberi Nantes is: 1 a football team, the first composed only by refugees and asylum seekers, which attend  at an official tournament of Italian FA; 2 hiking, because walking shouldn't be an experience of escape or fear, but became the pleasure of discovering new territories; 3 Italian school for learning a common languages; 4 a sport infrastructure where hosting people who want to play freely, create events and aggregation point. Through playing sport (and not only) the association offers a  free space to all the people who live in the refugee camps in the Rome territory, a football pitch where play freely, training and establish relationship. In order to facilitate their activity Liberi Nantes offer the possibility to use dresses, boots and all the things necessary for practicing sport. Moreover they can find volunteers at disposal for helping them in all the practical or personal problem they can find, give them back the hope for a better future, that hope lost in the sea. Since 2010 it has also managed a sports facility in the Pietralata district: it has been abandoned and has been progressively restructured and returned to the district with the fundamental help of refugee volunteers and asylum seekers. All sports and training activities are provided completely free of charge for refugees and asylum seekers and within this facility the sporting activities foreseen by the project will be provided.
