For the sporting life in general, the State is providing infrastructure and giving financial help to the communities and others to build sports installations. Sports clubs and sports organizations are getting financial support in order to help to ensure their existence. All this is completed by the very important and successful program „Youth and Sport“, which is realized in collaboration with Switzerland. Another field of sports that is supported by the government is high-performance sport. Here support is given to athletes, who have an amateur status as well as to semi-professionals or professionals, who are competing with the best in Europe and worldwide.

Organisation of sport in the country (2009)
The government is on the the top of the public organization of sport. Within the government, the Ministry for sport is responsible for all matters concerning sport. When dealing with specific questions, but also general ones, the government is asking his advisory board. This is a commission, a group of experts, whose opinion is the very important for the decision-making process of the government. The advisory board is helped by the office of youth and sport, which carries out their decisions and the decisions of the government, as well as the program „Youth and sport“.
