Mr Oliver Kask, Substitute member of the Venice Commission in respect of Estonia, participated online in a training session for judges and prosecutors on “Peculiarities of examination and settlement of electoral disputes ahead of the Parliamentary election of the Republic of Moldova”, held in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, on 4 September 2025. The training was co-organised by the National Institute of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Moldova, and the Council of Europe’s Office in Chișinău.
Mr Kask presented the findings and recommendations of the Urgent Report on the cancellation of election results by Constitutional Courts, issued on 27 January 2025 and endorsed by the Venice Commission at its 142nd Plenary Session (Venice, 14-15 March 2025), and the Interpretative declaration of the Code of good practice in electoral matters as concerns digital technologies and artificial intelligence, approved by the Council for Democratic Elections at its 81st meeting (Venice, 5 December 2024) and adopted by the Venice Commission at its 141st Plenary Session (Venice, 6-7 December 2024).
