The Steering Committee for Human Rights (CDDH) has been entrusted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe with the task of conducting work aimed to promote the rights of older persons.

On the basis, in particular, of texts adopted by the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, the CDDH prepared Recommendation (2014)02 on the promotion of human rights of older persons. It was adopted by the Committee of Ministers on 19^th February 2014.

The activity was conducted from 2012 to 2013.
