  • Constitutional Procurator of the Republic (1999-2009)
  • Associate Justice of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (2009 – to date)
  • President of the Constitutional Chamber since 2018 to date)
  • Current Law Professor of the Escuela Libre de Derecho
  • Former Professor for LL.M. programs at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia and the University of Costa Rica
  • Coauthor of six books and author of the following books: Elements of Economy in the Constitution; Budgetary Law; The Protection of the Fundamental Rights in the Constitutional Jurisdiction and its Vicissitudes; Current Problems of Constitutional Law, Heading Towards a Constitutional Populism. Other publications for review articles of Public Law.
