In 2008, I gained my Enabling Others qualification, awarded by Nottingham Trent University as part of completing the Post Qualifying Child Care Award, which inspired me to start delivering training courses combining theory and practice in the field of child safeguarding and child wellbeing. In 2011, the UK Chartered Management Institute (CMI) recognised my knowledge and skills in leading teams and awarded me the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Leadership, Management and Performance. In 2013, I completed a 2-year accreditation Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) and I became the first VIG practitioner in Video Enhanced Reflective Pratice (VERP).
Since 2015, l led on eLearning modules on child safeguarding and wellbeing (e.g. UK Houses of Parliament, Terre des hommes Keeping Children Safe in Sports EU funded project) and I designed, planned and delivered trainings and facilitated learning and development events across Europe in courtiers such as England, Wales, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Greece, and Switzerland.
Main (personal/organisational) achievements in the field of safe sport
- Planned, designed and facilitated UEFA one-day workshop (November 2018, Switzerland) and 3-day study groups scheme with all European national football federations (March 2019, Germany)
- Key speaker on Child Safeguarding in Sport at Austrian National Football Federation Annual Conference (November 2019, Austria)
- Planned, designed and facilitated Training of trainers in the framework of the EU funded project Keeping Children Safe in Sports sport clubs (5-day training, August – September 2020, Romania) and summer camp (4-day training, October 2020, Greece).
- Consultation on the design and implementation of the Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedures in Romania (2019 – 2021) culminating with being key speaker at the International Conference “Together for a child safe environment in sport” (February 2022) where I presented on Trauma Informed Practice in Sport.

My main tasks are supporting sports organisations with the development of an integrity policy, developing new instruments and workshops regarding interpersonal violence in sport and advicing sport organisations who are dealing with cases of interpersonal violence in their sport.
In the past I worked for the Royal Belgian Football Association as Football & Social Responsibility officer where I was responsible for the development of the safeguarding policy for the national youth teams. I was also active as a project coordinator of the LGBTQI+ action plan in Belgian Football. I started my carreer at the KU Leuven as a researcher for a project on child sexual harassment and abuse in sport.
Main (personal/organisational) achievements in the field of sport
- Training safeguarding officers at federation/local/club level in Flanders.
- Developing and implementing bystander interventions for coaches, young athletes, club board members and parents via the Safe Sport Allies project.
- Development of the ‘Sport with boundaries flag system’. A system that helps to assess the seriousness of cases.
Katie FUDAKOWSKI
Barrister, Old Square Chambers, United Kingdom

Katie Fudakowski is a barrister at Old Square Chambers specialising in safeguarding, sport, employment and education law. She is ranked in Chambers and Partners for Sport and sits part-time as a Recorder in the Family Courts.
Previously a partner at Farrer & Co, where she lead the safeguarding in sport group, she co-authored national safeguarding guidance, including the “Low-level concerns” policy now referenced in the UK’s Keeping Children Safe in Education. She also co-authored the Best Practice Guide on Safeguarding in Sport (commissioned by Sport England and British Gymnastics, produced by LimeCulture), supporting national governing bodies to develop policy and procedures to keep participants safe.
In her practice, Katie advises a wide range of clients across the sports ecosystem—from clubs to national governing bodies—on safeguarding, governance, risk and equality issues. She frequently acts on high-stakes matters, including investigations, tribunal litigation, regulatory proceedings and policy development.

- Co-authored Farrer & Co’s guidance on “Developing and implementing a low-level concerns policy” — now referenced in the UK Department for Education’s Keeping Children Safe in Education and adapted for sports organisations.

Claudia KOLLER
Secretary general, 100% Sport, Austria

I am the Secretary general of 100% SPORT, the Austrian center for gender competence and SAFE SPORT. In my role as secretary general, I am responsible for the conceptualisation and development of national strategic actions and SAFE SPORT structures in Austria.
At European Level, I have been the national coordinator for two European Union-Council of Europe joint projects: ALL IN: Towards gender equality in sport (2018-2019) and Child Safeguarding in Sport (CSiS, 2020-2022).
Main (personal/organisational) achievements in the field of safe sport
- Establishing the SAFE SPORT platform for action
- Development and publication of the Austrian SAFE SPORT Standards, the national education system, the handbook, the tool kit and the E-learning platform
- Establishing the SAFE SPORT network of trained safeguarding officers, trainers and trustpersons from national to club level (as of 2021 - over 300 officers trained)

Psychologist and consultant in Child Protection, Espirales Consultoría de Infancia, Spain

With over twenty-one years of experience, I have worked as an educator in Morocco and Mauritania, as an intercultural mediator and clinical psychologist with at-risk youth in Spain, and as a consultant for public and private institutions in Spain, Europe, the Maghreb and Latin America.
I co-founded Espirales Consultoría de Infancia in 2009 and have since then been a consultant in child protection, affectivity and interpersonal communication. I have given training in Spanish, English, French and Moroccan Arabic.
Since 2017 I have been involved in projects whose aims are to improve the safeguarding and protection of children in sports, and in public and private institutions.

- Elaborating the materials of the Campaign “Child Sexual Abuse Stays Offside” (in Spanish “El abuso sexual infantil queda fuera de juego” #abusofueradejuego), a campaign for the prevention and detection of child sexual abuse in sports coordinated by the Spanish High Council for Sports (Consejo Superior de Deportes) and Fundación Deporte Joven
- Facilitating trainings on Child Protection in Sports for public administrations in Spain (the Spanish High Council for Sports, the Andalusian Institute for Sports…), private organisations and NGOs (UNICEF Spain and others)
- Providing consultancy services to private sports organisations to improve their Child Protection policies, including tailored training, assessment of their policies and improving or elaborating Child Protection tools.

Anne TIIVAS OBE
Chair, Safe Sport International, United Kingdom

Since 2018, I have been chair of Safe Sport International (SSI), the UK based international charity which aims to prevent all forms of non-accidental violence against athletes. I represent SSI on a range of international fora including the Centre for Sport and Human Rights Advisory Council and FIFA's expert safeguarding group. I have written extensively on violence against children and adults in sport and have presented at many international conferences and events over the past 20 years. I am one of the three programme directors for the new IOC Safeguarding Officer certificate course. I teach about safeguarding in sport on the MAISI course at the University of Leuven.
Main (personal / organisational) achievements in the field of safe sport
- Co-ordinating global conferences for safe sport - through the establishment of the Safe Sport International conferences as the 'go to' events for knowledge sharing about safe sport - which centre the athlete voice. Collaborating with experts to create internationally recognised training resources such as 'I-Protect in Sport'
- SSI establishing its research committee of global experts providing internationally recognised outputs
- Supporting the inclusion and centring of athlete voices in practice through education, training research and network building
- Collaborations with key organisations - Founding member and Advisory Group chair of the International Safeguards for Children in Sport group which has developed International Safeguards and guidance following successful pilots with over 50 organisations globally and which was recognised for its work as Winner of the UNICEF UK International Safeguarding in Sport Award 2016 at the Beyond Sport Summit for the work of the CPSU
- Adapting the International Safeguards to create a template for developing whole country Child Safeguarding in Sport road maps for the CSiS Council of Europe project 2020-2022
