The Committee of the Saint-Denis Convention and its Ad hoc Working Group on FIFA 2026 meet in Strasbourg

The Saint-Denis Committee held its 8th meeting in Strasbourg, on 2-3 December 2025, back-to-back with the second meeting of its Ad hoc Working Group on FIFA Men’s Football World Cup 2026 (Canada, Mexico and USA).

The Committee re-elected Inanç Özçakmak as Chair of the Advisory Group on Standard Setting and Legal Issues (T-S4 LI) and adopted its Policy Strategy for the years 2026-2029. The Committee took note of recent developments in the States Parties to the Saint-Denis Convention and the observers to the Committee, including the two monitoring visits to Bulgaria and Hungary held this year.

The Committee also assessed the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, which was held in Switzerland last Summer. Finally, the Committee members held an exchange of views with the Union of European Clubs (UEC) on possible future cooperation.

The second meeting of the Ad hoc Working Group on FIFA Men’s Football World Cup 2026  brought together States Parties and observers for a state of play of the safety, security and service preparations, presented by the delegations of USA and FIFA.
