T-DO Evaluation visit in North Macedonia

A team of anti-doping experts from the Council of Europe travelled to Skopje on 23 to 25 June 2026 for an evaluation visit to analyse and strengthen specific aspects of the national anti-doping system. The purpose of this mission was to review the actions undertaken by North Macedonia to implement the Anti-Doping Convention, which the country ratified in 1994.

The visit included meetings and discussions with key stakeholders such as:

  • Representatives from the Anti-Doping Commission of North Macedonia,
  • representatives from the National Olympic Committee of North Macedonia,
  • Representatives of national sport federations of North Macedonia and
  • Representatives from the police and customs 

The evaluation team was led by Michał Rynkowski (Poland), Chair of the T-DO Director of the Polish anti-doping agency, and also included Olympia Karavasili (Greece), Independent Expert, Michael Petrou (Cyprus), Director of the Cyprus Anti-Doping Agency, Milica Vukasinovic-Vesic (Serbia), Director of the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia and Jamie Brown, Head of the Anti-doping Unit at the Council of Europe.

Following the on-site visit to Skopje, the conclusions and recommendations will be summarised in an Evaluation Report which will be adopted by the Monitoring Group to the Anti-doping Convention (T-DO) and subsequently transmitted to the authorities of North Macedonia for implementation.
