Iceland joins the Saint-Denis and Macolin Conventions

Ragnhildur Arnljótsdóttir, Permanent Representative of Iceland, deposited, this 6 December 2022, before the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Bjørn Berge, the instrument of acceptance of the Council of Europe Convention on an Integrated Safety, Security and Service Approach at Football Matches and Other Sports Events (CETS Nº 218), also known as the Saint-Denis Convention, and the one of the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (CETS No. 215), also known as the Macolin Convention.

Iceland is the 24th State to ratify the Saint-Denis Convention. The Saint-Denis Convention shall enter into force in respect of Iceland on 1 February 2023.

Iceland also becomes the 8th State Party to the Macolin Convention. The Macolin Convention shall enter into force in respect of Iceland on 1 April 2023.
