EPAS publishes a toolkit on prevention and reaction to child sexual abuse in sport

Ahead of the 19th Conference of Ministers Responsible for Sport, the Council of Europe’s Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) is pleased to announce the launch of the Toolkit on prevention and reaction to child sexual abuse in sport, a unique tool for public authorities, sports organisations and professionals with child safeguarding responsibilities.

The toolkit comprises six fact sheets covering definitions and key facts, legal frameworks, recognising and responding to child sexual abuse, and prevention and education. It can be adapted to national contexts and used for training and awareness-raising.

This toolkit is the result of work carried out by the Council of Europe’s Pool of International Experts on Safe Sport to update the previous training kit, which was developed within the European Union–Council of Europe joint project Pro Safe Sport+ to prevent and react to situations of potential sexual violence against children and young people in sport.

This work has been led by pool member and safeguarding specialist An de Kock.

The secretariat support of the Pool of international experts on safe sport is provided by the EPAS project “Start to Talk”.

You can find the toolkit here.
