The meeting started with discussions on modalities of cooperation between Europe and WADA, and concluded with agreement to seek a solution that would enable WADA to resume its longstanding practice—since 2004—of exchanging views with CAHAMA delegations. Another decision taken was the endorsement by CAHAMA of two European candidates, nominated by the delegations of Denmark and Cyprus, for the position of Independent Member of WADA’s Executive Committee. As is customary at CAHAMA meetings, delegations also received a briefing on the “OneVoice” platform, the collaborative platform that enables the Public Authorities or Governments of five Olympic regions to coordinate on WADA-related matters. 

The CAHAMA’s main agenda item focused on the discussion and preparation of Europe’s positions on agenda items for the WADA Executive Committee meeting to take place in Belgrade, Serbia. The principal annual decision will be the adoption of the International Standard for the Prohibited List for 2027, which will subsequently become an annex to the Council of Europe’s Anti-Doping Convention. Following the meeting, mandate was provided for the European representative at the Executive Committee, Ukraine Minister of Youth and Sport, Matvii Bidnyi.  

About CAHAMA and WADA 

• CAHAMA – The Ad Hoc European Committee established by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in 2003 to coordinate Europe’s position on anti-doping matters and prepare mandate for European representatives in global WADA governance.  
• WADA – The World Anti-Doping Agency sets global anti-doping standards, oversees the World Anti-Doping Code, and ensures compliance of anti-doping organisations across all Olympic regions and all sports.
