CAHAMA 70th Meeting takes place in Strasbourg ahead of WADA Executive Committee meeting

The Ad Hoc European Committee for the World Anti‑Doping Agency (CAHAMA) successfully held its 70th meeting in Strasbourg this week. The meeting brought together senior anti-doping officials and other national delegates from some 40 Council of Europe member States and 6 observer countries and organisations to coordinate Europe’s positions ahead of the World Anti‑Doping Agency (WADA) Executive Committee meeting, scheduled for 17–18 March 2026 . 

Election of CAHAMA Leadership 

During the session, Ms Amandine Carton (France) was re-elected Chair and Mr Kaarel Nestor (Estonia) was elected Vice-Chair of CAHAMA, each for a one-year mandate.  

Key Discussions and Strategic Agenda 

The meeting, held on 4–5 March 2026, the Committee started with key updates related to global anti-doping governance, including a briefing on the “OneVoice” platform, the collaborative platform that enables the Public Authorities or Governments of five Olympic regions to coordinate input to WADA processes. The CAHAMA also  

held an exchange with WADA representatives to clarify the impact of agenda items for Public Authorities, and proceeded to prepare Europe’s positions on agenda items for the WADA Executive Committee session in Baku, giving a clear mandate for the European representative at the Executive Committee, Ukraine Minister of Youth and Sport, Matvii Bidnyi.

  • CAHAMA – The Ad Hoc European Committee established by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in 2003 to coordinate Europe’s position on anti-doping matters and prepare mandate for European representatives in global WADA governance.  

  • WADA – The World Anti-Doping Agency sets global anti-doping standards, oversees the World Anti-Doping Code, and ensures compliance of anti-doping organisations across all Olympic regions and all sports.
