Sports betting is of interest to prosecutors! The Network of Magistrates/Prosecutors Responsible for Sports (MARS) launched its first webinar today: “Beyond the odds: Navigating the evolving landscape of sports betting”.

Led by gambling industry expert Christian Kalb, the webinar tackled two main objectives - understanding the sports betting industry and developing strategies for the prosecution of match-fixing and illegal gambling offences.

Participants were given a thorough overview of the global sports betting industry, including key players and the legal framework, to enable them to better fight match-fixing.

MARS is a network of prosecutors from over 25 countries, all working towards promoting effective investigation and criminal proceedings for sports integrity. Apart from their regular activities and events, they also strive to raise awareness on the latest trends threatening sports integrity - particularly the manipulation of sports competitions.

With MARS on the case, sports integrity is in good hands!
