Marta HIRSCH-ZIEMBINSKA

Marta Hirsch-Ziembinska is the Principal Adviser on international cooperation and fundamental rights at the European Ombudsman’s Office. She previously had the role of the Head of Unit dealing with inquiries and ICT. Prior to joining the European Ombudsman in 2003, she worked in the Polish Diplomatic Service, holding different positions in Latin America and Europe with the last diplomatic rank of minister plenipotentiary. She was a lecturer of international law at the University of Mannheim and University of Warsaw. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Silesia and two master’s degrees from the University of Warsaw (in Law and Administration, and in Iberian Languages). She has also completed the public leadership executive education at the JFK School of Government in Harvard.

  • Participation: the workshop will be held in person and is by invitation only. It is not open to the public. However, the event will be livestreamed on this webpage to allow for broader access. Please note that the livestream is for viewing purposes only; remote participants will not have the possibility to take the floor or interact with the speakers.
  • Venue: Agora building of the Council of Europe, room G03.
  • Getting around Strasbourg: local transport & useful contacts.
  • Access to the Council of Europe premises and registration: badges will be distributed at the entrance of the building on the first day of the Workshop upon presentation of a valid ID or passport.
