On 28 April, the Global Action on Cybercrime Extended (GLACY+) project and the Anti-phishing Working Group (APWG) held a roundtable discussion on international cooperation to prevent, investigate and prosecute cybercrime using emerging technologies. The conversation focused on the challenges and opportunities in this field.
After a round of introductory interventions, the speakers engaged in an interactive exchange of views, best practices, and recommendations on how to strengthen public-private collaboration, on the legal and political tools needed to effectively combat cybercrime using new technologies, and on the support that could be provided by private companies to the public sector in terms of cybercrime prevention and investigation using new technologies. Speakers highlighted how the tools provided by the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime and the new provisions of the Second Additional Protocol can further strengthen public-private partnerships in cybercrime prevention, investigation and prosecution.
Nearly 70 participants – including policymakers, officials in charge of cooperation with LEAs, criminal justice practitioners, and representatives of the private sector - attended this webinar and engaged in an active dialogue with the speakers via the event chat.
