Policy areas of the Council of Europe

Council of Europe bodies carry out gender mainstreaming activities in a wide range of areas.

This concerns firstly areas where the Committee of Ministers has adopted Recommendations on gender mainstreaming, namely education, health, media, sport and audio-visual policy. Different monitoring bodies and other sectors of the Council of Europe also undertake gender mainstreaming initiatives and activities.
