The Monitoring Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities will hold a remote meeting on 17 September 2020. The Committee members will hold a debate on the protection of the European Charter of Local Self-Government in extreme crisis situations. They will examine reports for approval on the situation of local and regional democracy in Austria and Ukraine, as well as a report on local and regional elections in major crisis situations. The situation of the administrative and territorial reform in Latvia will also be discussed. In addition, the 2nd volume of the Human Rights Handbook on Social Rights at Local and Regional Levels will be presented with a view to its adoption.
