Meeting of the Current Affairs Committee - 10 February 2021

The Current Affairs Committee adopted a report on “Protection of LGBTI people in the context of rising anti-LGBT hate speech and discrimination: The role and responsibilities of local and regional authorities” and a Fact-finding report on “The role of local authorities with regard to the situation and rights of LGBTI people in Poland”.

The Current Affairs Committee is responsible for exploring the role of local and regional authorities with regard to the major challenges of our society and preparing work on thematic issues such as social cohesion, education, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, youth participation, integration of migrants, protection of children, and gender equality from the point of view of the Council of Europe’s core values.
