17.01.2012 – On 24
January 2012 the network of contact parlamentarians for
the Council of Europe ONE in FIVE Campaign to stop
sexual violence against children will meet in
Strasbourg.
This event will be organised by the Parliamentary
Assembly of the Council of Europe and will take place in
Room 7, at the Palais de l'Europe, from 2 pm to 3.30 pm.
Theme: Means to redress and eliminate sexual violence
against children
Following on from the five successful meetings held in
2011, the 6th network meeting will discuss the means to
redress and eliminate sexual violence against children.
The parliamentarians are invited to exchange views and
reflect on this topic with Mr Hammarberg, Council of
Europe Commissioner for Human Rights and Mr Ruelle,
Judge and Chairperson of the Committee of the Parties to
the Lanzarote Convention.
The meeting will be an opportunity to summarize the
first achievements of the ONE in FIVE Campaign and of
its parlamentary dimension, as well as to delve into its
future prospects.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe,
Ms de Boer-Buquicchio, will give an update on the ONE in
FIVE Campaign, followed by a statement by Mr Frécon,
President of the Chamber of Local Authorities of the
Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, on the
involvement of the Congress in the campaign.
