HFC "Hope for Children" has launched the ONE in FIVE campaign in Cyprus under the auspices of the Parliamentarian Ms. Athene Kyriakidou, who is the appointed contact parliamentarian by the Republic of Cyprus to the Network of Contact Parliamentarians in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

The campaign has so far encouraged the citizens of Cyprus to sign a petition urging the government to adhere as soon as possible to the Council of Europe's Convention on the Protection of Children Against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (Lanzarote Convention), which was signed on 25th October 2007 by the Republic of Cyprus.

The future plans for the campaign in Cyprus will be the translation of the awareness raising material The Underwear Rule into Greek in order to inform and empower the parents, carers, children, youth and public at large, and a contact series of lectures in the universities around Cyprus on sexual exploitation of children.
