Workshop 5: Impact of artificial intelligence on cybercrime
25 November 2025
EN – FR
16h00 – 17h30 - GMT+3
Agenda
Room TBC
The rise of artificial intelligence is raising concerns but also provides opportunities for criminal justice and law enforcement actions. Issues to be discussed in this workshop include:
- What offences are committed against and by means of AI systems?
- How can AI systems be used for the collection of electronic evidence and for international cooperation?
- How can human rights and rule of law safeguards, chain of custody, territoriality and jurisdiction, and other conditions and principles be applied in this regard?
- To what extent are criminal law and agreements like the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime and its Protocols applicable to address these issues?
It is expected that panellists and audience elaborate not only on hypothetical challenges and opportunities but also to bring real and practical scenarios where the use of AI and collaboration with partners is already being implemented.
