Student week in Strasbourg
from 19 to 23 March 2007

In the framework of the campaign "Stop  domestic violence against women", the Council of Europe Congress, in cooperation with the City of Strasbourg , the ITII-RI University and the Portuguese student association "CHAMA", organised an awareness-raising week in Strasbourg universities.

Activities scheduled all along the week put a spotlight on different kinds of violence  : violent couple relations, sexual aggressions, rape drugs, etc.

Among the events plannes, were a conference, a projection followed by a debate, an exhibition of drawings, an improvised theatre play, a Quiz evening, a mixed football match, and an information on the Council of Europe campaign.

From 1 to 15 March 2007 the City of Strasbourg and the Congress co-operated in a poster campaign against domestic violence throughout the Strasbourg metropolitan area. The initiative is to be extended to other European cities, and poster campaigns are already scheduled in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ukraine and Iceland, for example. (more ...)
