Lithuania makes a voluntary contribution

The government of Lithuania has made a voluntary contribution of €35,000 toward the implementation of the Council of Europe Action Plans for Ukraine and Georgia. Lithuania has given an additional, non-earmarked contribution of €15,000 to the Ukraine Action Plan, bringing their total support to €45,000.

The remaining €20,000 were allocated to the Action Plan for Georgia 2016-2019.

These Action Plans intend to support Ukraine and Georgia in fulfilling their statutory and specific obligations as Council of Europe member states and to contribute toward addressing fundamental issues of human rights and rule of law.

The agreements were signed on 29 June 2017 by Ambassador Laima Jurevičienė, Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the Council of Europe, and Mrs. Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General.
