Júlia Vrábľová is a researcher at the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and Counsellor for Education and Integration of Foreigners at the Ministry of Education Development and Youth. As a representative of the Slovak Republic in the European Federation of National Language Institutions, she focuses on language policy and the relationship between language and power and ideology in her research with special interest is linguistic justice, mostly in terms of education and language acquisition.  She has been part of several research teams dedicated to multilingualism, language management and plain language in strategic communication of state. She worked as a research and teaching assistant in the centre of Slovak as a foreign language at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava. She is active in minority rights, primarily in publishing Roma literature.
