[14-15 July 2009, Rabat] On 14 and 15 July 2009, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and New Technologies of Morocco and the Council of Europe organised a joint workshop on cybercrime at the Institute of Judicial Studies in Rabat. The workshop was followed by a series of bi-lateral meetings to discuss the strengthening of cybercrime legislation and the possible accession of Morocco to the Convention on Cybercrime. This treaty is one of several conventions that are under consideration since Morocco was granted the “statut avancé” of association with the European Union in October 2008.
