Sixth bi-annual meeting of the OAS (Organisation of American States)- "REMJA" (Meetings of Ministers of Justice or Other Ministers or Attorneys General of the Americas) Working Group on Cybercrime
[21-22 January 2010, Washington D.C] The Working Group on Cybercrime is composed of governmental experts with responsibilities in this area or in the area of international cooperation for investigation and prosecution of cybercrime in the member states of the OAS. Every two years, the working group convenes a meeting of experts from the member states to consider and implement mandates received from the REMJA, act as a framework to facilitate information and experience sharing, and consider and formulate recommendations for the REMJA on matters related to cybercrime and electronic evidence.
The objective of this meeting is to evaluate the progress achieved and define new concrete cooperation actions to prevent, investigate and punish crimes committed through information systems or against them. The Working Group on Cybercrime will analyze the problems that have been detected, the progress achieved in international cooperation in this area, and will formulate recommendations on new actions to be executed which will be considered by the "REMJA" Meeting to be held in Brasilia, Brazil, from February 24 to 26, 2010.
