Steven Masada serves as Associate General Counsel and General Manager of Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit (DCU), where he leads a global team of attorneys, investigators, intelligence analysts, and technical experts dedicated to combating cybercrime and protecting customers, businesses, and the broader digital ecosystem. The DCU brings together Microsoft’s threat intelligence, legal, and technical capabilities to disrupt cybercriminal operations through innovative civil litigation, intelligence-driven investigations, and strategic partnerships with governments, law enforcement agencies, and industry partners around the world.

Prior to leading the DCU, Steven was a member of Microsoft’s Law Enforcement & National Security (LENS) team, where he advised on complex legal, policy, and regulatory issues involving government surveillance, lawful access to data, and emerging technology.

Before joining Microsoft, Steven spent more than 12 years with the U.S. Department of Justice and several years in private practice.
