Shaza Barakat

Shaza Belal Barakat is a Senior Legal Advisor within the International Cooperation Department of Egypt’s Ministry of Justice and a member of the National Cybercrime Committee. Specializing in international judicial cooperation, mutual legal assistance, and transnational criminal law. She represents the Ministry in high-level international forums and serves as the national liaison for key judicial cooperation and coordinates closely with international entities as the National Focal Point for Cybersouth and EuroMed Justice, while bridging domestic judicial frameworks with international standards, and driving strategic planning and specialized capacity-building programs for judges and prosecutors.

Before joining the Ministry of Justice, Ms. Barakat served as a Chief Prosecutor and Administrative Prosecutor at Egypt's Administrative Prosecution Authority, investigating public office crimes and financial corruption. She holds an LL.M. from Indiana University and multiple advanced diplomas in law, and is currently a DBA candidate.
