European Youth Representative at the Flemish Youth Council
Reinout Vermaercke

Reinout Vermaercke is a European Youth Representative at the Flemish Youth Council. He represents Flemish youth in the General Assembly of the European Youth Forum, participates in the EU Youth Dialogue, and serves as a youth delegate to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.

As an active member of the Working Group on the Digital World, he helps shape youth perspectives on digital policy. Most recently, he contributed to the Flemish Youth Council’s position paper opposing a proposed sweeping ban on social media for youth under 16.

Outside his voluntary work, Reinout is enrolled in the preparatory program for the Master’s in International and Comparative Politics at KU Leuven. He previously earned a Research Master’s degree in Law, with a major in International and European Law and a minor in Public Law. After completing his studies, he briefly worked at the KU Leuven Faculty of Law as a teaching assistant in Private Law.

He has been nominated by the European Youth Forum to participate in this event.
