Leyii is a prosecutor who currently serves with the Cybercrimes Unit under the Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation in Nigeria, bringing an extensive background in counter-terrorism and Mutual Legal Assistance Treaties (MLATs) to her role in prosecuting complex cybercrime cases and reviewing the Cybercrimes Act. With a strong foundation in cross-border legal collaboration, she has effectively leveraged international frameworks to strengthen investigations and secure evidence in cybercrime prosecutions.
A recognized authority on legislation surrounding Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), she has delivered lectures on child exploitation in collaboration with prominent NGOs. Through these engagements, she educates law enforcement and legal professionals on combating child exploitation and enhancing victim support mechanisms in Nigeria. Her expertise has been enriched by a scholarship from the Canadian government in partnership with Cyber Law International, in the International Law of Cyber Operations Course, an Online Executive Course and recently, completion of the Interpol Instructor Development Course.
Further solidifying her expertise, she has received mentorship from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) through the prestigious HerCyberTracks program, which connects her with leading international experts. Leyii is an esteemed member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and is passionate about women's role in advancing the Nigerian Justice System
