Kristina Miggiani is a Counsel in the World Bank’s Legal Advisory and Knowledge Unit (LEGLA), where she provides legal and policy advice on data protection, AI governance, cybercrime, and financial integrity. Her work focuses on helping governments strengthen legal and institutional frameworks to support responsible digital transformation, including AI and digital finance, while also managing risks such as those posed by cyber-enabled financial crime. Before joining the World Bank, Kristina held positions at the Council of Europe, IMF, EU, IFC, OECD, and in the private sector. She holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School and LL.D. and LL.B. degrees from the University of Malta.
