Some 32 Moroccan prosecutors and judges participated in the advanced judicial training organised by the CyberSouth+ project, a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the High Institute of Magistrates of Morocco, in Tangier, on 24-27 February 2025.
This course follows on the basic judicial training on cybercrime and electronic evidence held in June 2024, in Tangier, which was complemented by the training of trainers which took place later in October 2024, in Rabat.
Building up upon the previous trainings, the advanced judicial course aimed at enabling the participating magistrates to deepen their knowledge on topics like virtual currencies, electronic evidence, as well as the provisions of the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention) and its Additional Protocols. The training followed an interactive approach, and a mock trial was staged allowing participants to enhance their practical skills and apply the acquired knowledge.
The CyberSouth+ project will continue to support the Moroccan judicial sector, including by reinforcing the national pool of trainers in the field of cybercrime and electronic evidence.
